EPoS ALERT

Live journal data from the EPOS terminal is streamed to a back office PC as each transaction takes place at the point of sale. The EPOS Alert software collects and analyses this data in real time. The live journal data can be displayed on the screen of the back office PC.

EPOS Alert can be configured to monitor transactions according to predefined criteria. For example, you may wish to monitor any voids or error corrections above a certain amount. As soon as a transaction occurs, that meets the predefined criteria, it is highlighted on the screen of the back office computer.

A wireless paging system can be configured as part of the system so that as soon as an alert is recorded a message is automatically sent to a specific pager identifying the EPOS terminal, operator and a description of the alert.

The main benefit of this system is that a manager can deal with problems as they happen rather than waiting to find out he had a problem the following day when it may be too late to do anything about.

Events that the system can monitor include:

• Discounts
• Corrections
• Voids
• Refunds
• Transaction values
• No sales
• Paid outs
• Surcharges & gratuities
• X and Z reports

Predefined thresholds can be configured to trigger the alerts and up to 3 levels used so that different pagers can be alerted according to different thresholds. For example a £10 error correction might alert the bar manager whilst a £100 error correction alert the general manager.

In additional to transaction monitoring the system can be configured so that pre configured messages can be automatically sent to specific pagers or a group of pagers. For example, if a fight broke out in a bar then the bar staff could automatically page all the door staff using a button on the EPOS terminal.
